Who is Colt Home Services?
Colt started in 2022 as a Mass Save Home Performance Contractor. That means years of crawling through attics and basements assessing whole houses — not just the fixture that's leaking.
It changes what we notice. A water heater that's failing early is usually telling you something about the rest of the system. We'd rather find that than sell you a tank and leave.
William Colt owns the company and lives in the Boston area. Every job runs under a Massachusetts-licensed master plumber. Nobody here reports to a fund.
Does your town need a water softener?
Half these towns need a softener. Half don't. Waltham, Newton and Watertown run on MWRA water from the Quabbin and Wachusett reservoirs — soft, and no softener required. Natick, Wayland and Dover pull from wells, and that's a different conversation entirely.
We published the whole list, town by town, so you can check before anyone quotes you equipment.
5-Year Workmanship Guarantee
We stand behind how we do the work for five years. If something fails because of our installation or repair, we come back and correct it — no labor charge.
Covers Colt's workmanship. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty. Excludes pre-existing conditions, customer-supplied fixtures, and freeze or misuse damage. Read the full termsWhat do customers say about Colt?
Joe was awesome during his energy audit identifying many ways to cut our bills. I would highly recommend him and his company.
Joe came by and walked through every thing in great detail. He showed us all the ways to make the house more efficient and when they came to install the insulation the crew was amazing and respectful.
Today I had a visit from Mass save, they sent over Joe frasso to look at our home. I just have to say Joe gave great service, he was polite, informative, professional, And he didn’t hesitate to answer any of our questions. It’s really refreshing to see someone giving it their all when it comes to customer service!…
William visited my home, and the entire process went smoothly. He was very professional and didn't use any high-pressure sales tactics. I had heard that prices for things like insulation were often inflated due to MassSave, but this company seems to operate honestly. Highly recommended!
Joe Frasso did a very good job with analyzing my home and assessing the needs to make iy more efficient. He was very pleasant, informative, and helpful with talking about the needs and options.

Common questions
How much does a plumber cost?
The service call is free. A licensed plumber comes out, diagnoses the problem and gives you a written price before any work starts. If you go ahead with the repair, there's an $89 service fee on top of that price; if you don't, you pay nothing. Estimates for installations and replacements are free.
Are you open nights or weekends?
Not yet. We're open 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday, and we'd rather tell you that than promise round-the-clock service and not pick up.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Our plumbing work is performed under Massachusetts Plumbing Business License 1310027098-PL-C, issued by the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters. William Colt holds Construction Supervisor License CS-118144. We're insured through Federated Insurance.
Do you still do Mass Save work?
Yes. We're a Mass Save Home Performance Contractor and still run no-cost home energy assessments, insulation and air sealing.
