Who owns Colt Home Services?
William Colt owns and runs the company, holds Massachusetts Construction Supervisor LicenseCS-118144, and lives in the Boston area. Colt is owner-operated — not a franchise, and not owned by a private equity fund.
How did Colt start?
Colt started in 2022 as a Mass Save Home Performance Contractor, running no-cost home energy assessments, insulation and air sealing through the Mass Save program. That meant years of work in attics and basements, assessing whole houses rather than single fixtures.
Colt now has a plumbing department. Every plumbing job runs under Massachusetts Plumbing Business License 1310027098-PL-C, issued by the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters. Energy work continues alongside it.
Why does an energy background matter for plumbing?
It changes what we notice. A water heater failing early is often telling you something about water quality, venting or how the system was sized. We'd rather find that than replace a tank and leave.
