Privacy Policy & Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Colt Home Services respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.
We’re a home services company based at 99 Felton St, Waltham, MA 02453. You can reach us at (617) 446-3690 or hello@colthomeservices.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Name, phone number, email address, and service address
- Details about the work you need — the problem, equipment, access, timing
- Appointment preferences and scheduling information
- Payment information, processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers on our systems)
- Photographs of work areas, equipment, and completed work
- Information you provide in reviews, surveys, or correspondence
Information you give us when you book online
Our website has a booking window with two paths.
- Plumbing. We ask what you need, an optional note, your ZIP code, the arrival window you want, your name, mobile phone number, street address and town, and, optionally, your email address. When you confirm, this information goes straight into our scheduling and dispatch system to create your appointment. If your phone number and address match an existing customer record, the appointment is added to that record; otherwise a new one is created.
- No-cost energy assessment. This takes you to our energy assessment scheduler, which collects your contact details, address and appointment choice to book the assessment.
We use your ZIP code to show the arrival windows available in your area. If it’s outside our service area, we ask you to call instead and nothing is booked.
Information about your property
Because we perform energy assessments and plumbing work, we may record details about your home: age, construction, heating and plumbing systems, insulation, utility account information, and energy usage. Where we perform Mass Save work, we collect the information the program requires.
Information collected automatically when you visit our website
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system, recorded by our website host when your browser requests a page
- Pages viewed, time on page, how you arrived at our site, and the referring URL and search terms where available
- Clicks on our phone number and booking buttons, and whether a booking was completed
- Cookie and similar identifiers (see section 5)
- When you book online, signals from your browser and device that our spam-protection service uses to tell people from automated programs
Information from third parties
- Utility program administrators, where you’ve authorized it for Mass Save work
- Lead sources and referral partners who pass us your inquiry
- Review platforms, where you’ve posted publicly. Our homepage shows recent Google reviews of our business, including each reviewer’s public Google name.
- Our scheduling, dispatch, and customer management systems
2. How we use your information
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on the work you request
- To give you pricing, proposals, and written estimates
- To process payment and issue invoices and receipts

We do not sell your personal information.
3. Text messages and SMS consent
If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about appointments, arrival windows, estimates, and service follow-up.
Some of our texts are sent by automated systems, including an automated assistant that can answer questions and help you book. You can ask for a person at any time.
Mobile information collected for SMS purposes will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. No mobile opt-in data or consent is shared with any third party. Information may be shared with subcontractors acting on our behalf solely to deliver the messaging service itself.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time, or HELP for help.
Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of purchase.
Verbal SMS opt-in
Colt Home Services will be collecting opt-ins verbally from their customers. The customers will be able to opt in to receive messages either in person at their physical location, or over a phone call if the customer calls. When a customer is registered for the first time, they are asked to provide their phone number, and staff is trained to ask if the customer would like to opt in to SMS-based billing notifications, appointment reminders, dispatch notifications, and job completion surveys. They will be verbally informed that ‘Message and data rates may apply’, ‘Message frequency may vary’, and they can ‘text HELP for support or more information and STOP to unsubscribe, at any time and no further messages will be sent.’ They will also be informed that their information will not be shared with third parties.
Online booking SMS consent
Before you can book a plumbing appointment on our website, you check a box agreeing to this: “By booking, you agree to receive text messages from Colt Home Services about your appointment. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
These texts are about your appointment, such as its confirmation and arrival time. They are not marketing. We don’t send them late at night; if you book after 9pm, the booking screen is your confirmation. Unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP and no further messages will be sent. Reply HELP for help.
4. Phone calls
We may monitor or record calls for quality, training, and record-keeping.
If you call a number listed in one of our online advertisements, that number may be a tracking number that forwards to our main line, so we can tell which advertisement generated the call.
5. Cookies and website tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand how it’s used, and measure our advertising.
- Essential — needed for the site to function, such as our booking window’s spam protection
- Site design — we sometimes test two versions of our website design. A cookie remembers which version you were shown, for up to 90 days, so it doesn’t change between visits. It contains only the letter of the version.
- Analytics — how visitors find and use the site
- Advertising — to measure which ads produce calls and bookings, and to show relevant ads on other sites
We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads conversion tracking. Google’s practices are described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Some pages show an embedded Google map of our shop. When the map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, as described in Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
When you book online, the booking window uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you’re a person. Turnstile collects information about your browser and device for that purpose only. Cloudflare’s privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
6. How we share your information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers who work on our behalf, under contracts limiting their use of it. These include our scheduling and dispatch software, payment processors, text messaging and communication platforms, cloud hosting for our website and booking system, spam protection, and analytics and advertising measurement.
- Subcontractors and trade partners performing part of the work
- Utility program administrators for Mass Save and similar programs, where you’ve authorized it
- Financing partners, only where you apply for financing
- Municipal building and plumbing departments, for permits and inspections
- Insurers and legal advisors, where reasonably necessary
- Regulators and authorities, where required by law or legal process
- A successor entity, if the business or its assets are sold or merged
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the advertising measurement described above.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information as long as needed for the purposes described here, and longer where law requires it.
In practice: customer and job records are retained for the life of the customer relationship and afterward for the period required by tax, warranty, insurance, and licensing obligations. Because we publish a five-year workmanship guarantee, job records are retained at least through the guarantee period. Utility program records are retained per program requirements.
8. How we protect your information
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, consistent with Massachusetts regulation 201 CMR 17.00.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach affecting Massachusetts residents occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the Attorney General as required by M.G.L. c. 93H.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
- Marketing email — unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email
- Text messages — reply STOP
- Cookies — manage through your browser settings
- Access, correction, or deletion — contact us at hello@colthomeservices.com and we’ll respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity, and some information must be retained for legal or warranty reasons.
If you’re a resident of a state with additional privacy rights, contact us and we’ll tell you what applies to you.
10. Children’s privacy
Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. Links to third-party sites
Our site links to third-party sites, including review platforms, social media, and Mass Save. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices. Read their notices.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted here.
