Why do we look at the house, not just the fixture?
Colt started in 2022 as a Mass Save Home Performance Contractor. Before we ever picked up a pipe wrench, we were assessing whole houses — attics, basements, building envelopes, mechanical systems.
That habit carries over. A water heater failing at eight years old is usually telling you something about water quality, venting, or how the system was sized in the first place. Replacing the tank without asking why is how you end up doing it again.
Where do we work?
We keep the radius tight on purpose. A plumber two towns away gets to you faster than one across the metro.
5-Year Workmanship Guarantee
We stand behind how we do the work for five years. If something fails because of our installation or repair, we come back and correct it — no labor charge.

How much does a plumber cost in Greater Boston?
The service call is free. A licensed plumber comes out, diagnoses the problem and gives you a written price before any work starts. If you go ahead with the repair, there's an $89 service fee on top of that price; if you don't, you pay nothing. Estimates for installations and replacements are free. If we open something up and find more than either of us could see, we stop and quote it rather than running up the bill.
Do you charge extra for evenings?
We're open 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday and don't charge a premium for later appointments in that window. We're not open weekends yet.
Are you open nights or weekends?
Not yet. We'd rather tell you our real hours than promise round-the-clock coverage and not pick up at 2am. If water is leaking outside our hours, shut it off at the main and call us when we open.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Our plumbing work is performed under Massachusetts Plumbing Business License 1310027098-PL-C, issued by the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters. William Colt holds Construction Supervisor License CS-118144. We're insured through Federated Insurance.
Can you help with Mass Save rebates too?
Yes — that's where the company started. We're a Mass Save Home Performance Contractor, so if a plumbing visit turns up an insulation or air sealing problem, we can run a no-cost home energy assessment.
